Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in poor form as they’ve lost seven of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping for a better performance after coming up just short to the Grizzlies in a 99-97 home loss last night. Victor Wembenyama led the team with 31 points, 16 rebounds and five assists and three blocks, Devin Vassell added 27 points on 10 of 17 shooting while Tre Jones chipped in with 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Spurs shot just 38 percent from the field and seven of 38 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates to an early 17-point lead, but they couldn’t hold off the Grizzlies and eventually lost in the final second of the game where the Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr drained the game-winner to snatch the game from the Spurs. The Spurs will face the Jazz after this back-to-back set against the Suns.
