The Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors duke it out at the Scotiabank Arena on Sunday night.
The Golden State Warriors have been in a slump as they’ve lost five of their last six games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after getting routed by the 76ers in a 118-106 road loss on Friday. Jordan Poole led the team with 29 points on 10 of 20 shooting, Donte DiVincenzo added 17 points with 10 rebounds and six assists, while Kevon Looney tallied 14 points with 11 rebounds, nine assists and two blocks. As a team, the Warriors shot just 41 percent from the field and 17 of 43 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 38 points in the first quarter to lead for most of the contest, but they couldn’t keep a lid on the 76ers in the second half where they poured in 63 points to take the game away from them in the end. Klay Thompson had a night to forget as he finished with just 12 points on four of 17 shooting.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in a real slump as they’ve lost seven of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a four-game slide after falling just short to the Nets in a 119-116 loss on Friday. Fred VanVleet led the way with 39 points on 14 of 24 shooting, Scottie Barnes added 26 points on eight of 18 shooting while Pascal Siakam chipped in with 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Raptors shot 48 percent from the field and nine of 24 from the 3-point line as they held the Nets to just 19 points in the first quarter to build an 18-point lead, but they never put away the Nets and it cost them the game as the Nets rallied back and stole the game at the buzzer thanks to Kyrie Irving who nailed the game winning 3-pointer.
Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 road games, 7-2 ATS in their last nine games following a loss of more than 10 points and 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games against a team with a home record above .600. The Raptors are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the over is 13-6 in the last 19 meetings overall and the Warriors are 1-3-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Toronto.
The Warriors will be shorthanded again as Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins are both out, while Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are both listed as day to day. The Raptors have injuries of their own to deal with as Gary Trent Jr is questionable, while Precious Achiuwa and OG Anunoby are both out. The Warriors looked better than expected in their loss to the 76ers on Friday, but they still couldn’t get close to winning and are now just 2-14 on the road this season. The Raptors have been well below their best lately, but they were close in their loss to the Nets and they surely have enough firepower to get past this banged up Warriors squad.
