Utah Jazz vs Brooklyn Nets Prediction 12-18-23 NBA Picks

The Brooklyn Nets travel to the Delta Center to do battle with the Utah Jazz on Monday night. Here’s a Nets vs Jazz prediction.

Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have been in decent shape as they’ve won seven of their last 11 games overall, but they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after falling just short to the Warriors in a 124-120 road loss on Saturday. Cam Thomas led the team with 41 points on 15 of 24 shooting, Nic Claxton added 19 points with 12 rebounds and four blocks, Mikal Bridges scored 18 points while Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with 16 points and 14 assists. As a team, the Nets shot 48 percent from the field and 17 of 43 from the 3-point line as they worked their way back from an 18-point deficit, before the Warriors went on a 8-0 run midway through the fourth quarter to slip away in a close finish.

Utah Jazz

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have been in a slump as they’ve lost six of their last nine games overall and they will be looking to bounce back after getting thrashed by the Kings in a 125-104 road loss on Saturday. Collin Sexton led the team with 28 points on 10 of 18 shooting, Lauri Markkanen added 18 points while Talen Horton-Tucker chipped in with 12 points off the bench. As a team, the Jazz shot 44 percent from the field and 12 of 37 from the 3-point line, but they didn’t match the Kings early on and fell behind by double-digits in the first quarter and things only got worse in the third quarter where they leaked 44 points to fall behind by as many as 30 points.

Nets vs Jazz prediction

The Nets are still missing Dennis Smith Jr and they are keeping an eye on Dorian Finney-Smith who is questionable here, while the Jazz are still missing Jordan Clarkson and they have John Collins as questionable with an illness. The Nets were on a nice run before dropping their last two games, while the Jazz came to life with a couple of wins before getting blown out by the Kings in their last outing. The Jazz are tempting as the underdog at home, but with the line so short, I’m sticking with the Nets to bounce back into form with a narrow win and cover here.
