Los Angeles Clippers Betting Preview
The Los Angeles Clippers will be looking to build some momentum after making light work of the Trail Blazers in a 123-111 home win on Wednesday. Paul George led the way with 27 points and six assists, Kawhi Leonard added 23 points with six assists, Ivica Zubac scored 20 points while Russell Westbrook tallied 11 points with 13 assists. As a team, the Clippers shot 52 percent from the field and 16 of 34 from the 3-point line as they held the Trail Blazers to just 20 points in the first quarter, before they exploded for 38 points in the second quarter to build an early double-digit lead.
Utah Jazz Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz are still searching for their first win of the season after getting routed by the young Kings in a 130-114 home loss on Wednesday. Jordan Clarkson led the team with 24 points and six assists on eight of 16 shooting, Lauri Markkanen added 19 points with 10 rebounds while John Collins chipped in with 15 points and 11 rebounds. As a team, the Jazz shot 45 percent from the field and nine of 28 from the 3-point line, but their problems were on the defensive end as they leaked 32 points in the first quarter and 40 points in the second quarter. Collin Sexton finished with just nine points on two of nine shooting and the Jazz trailed by as many as 23 points at one stage.
Peter’s Pick
It’s hard to get too excited about the Clippers’ big win over the Trail Blazers who have been struggling for a few seasons now, but the Clippers are back to full health and they looked great in their season opener. The Jazz were downright awful in their first game of the season and they’re going to need a better defensive effort or they’ll lose big once again. I might have been tempted to take the Jazz if the line was bigger, but as it stands, I’m sticking with the Clippers to get the win and cover on the road.
