The Los Angeles Lakers have been in great form as they’ve won five of their last six games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight win after routing the Pistons in a 125-111 home win on Tuesday. LeBron James led the team with 25 points and eight assists on nine of 15 shooting, Anthony Davis added 20 points with 14 rebounds and six blocks while D’Angelo Russell chipped in with 21 points. As a team, the Lakers shot 51 percent from the field and 14 of 35 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Pistons from the start and exploded for 71 points in the first half to lead by as many as 24 points before they started resting a few starters early.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have been doing it tough lately as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting run off the floor by the Warriors in a 129-107 home loss on Monday. Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson led the team with 22 points each, Lauri Markkanen added 19 points while Talen Horton-Tucker chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Jazz shot 44 percent from the field and 11 of 32 from the 3-point line, but they had no answer for the Warriors’ Stephen Curry who lit them up with seven 3-pointers before the rest of the Warriors joined him in the fourth quarter. Keyonte George had a rough outing as he scored just five points on two of 10 shooting.

The Jazz are still a little shorthanded with Otto Porter Jr already ruled out while the Lakers are still without Gabe Vincent and Cam Reddish. The Lakers are coming into this meeting with plenty of momentum and they were clinical in last night’s big win over the lowly Pistons, while the Jazz are stuck in a rut at the moment and they looked toothless in Monday’s loss to the Warriors. I can see why the Jazz are favorites at home, but the Lakers have all the momentum right now and I think they can stay hot with another win as the underdogs in this spot.
