The Buffalo Bills shoot for win number two when they host the Minnesota Vikings on Friday.
The NFL preason can be divided in to quarters, half's or even series based on who is playing for either team. The best way for Minnesota to look at their 27-13 loss to the visiting Texans in the preseason opener was their play over the first 30 minutes where they held a 13-10 lead because it was all downhill from there. Christian Ponder played sparingly with just two passing attempts while Matt Cassel went 12-19 for 212 yards. Quarterback controversy? Stay tuned. For those wanting to see Adrian Peterson, forget about it as the Vikings seemed content to go with the lesser knowns with out risking injury to their stars as the top priority. However, Houston owned the second half which says the Vikings might be lacking in the depth department but who knows after one game.

Buffalo looked to be in mid season form after demolishing Indianapolis 44-20 in the preseason opener. Any one remotely familiar with the Colts knows that Andrew Luck is the starting signal caller so the competition is for the back up job and he didn't see the field all that much. As far as the Bills were concerned, for one day it appeared as if EJ Manuel (16/21-107) and Jeff Tuel (19/23-212) will be locked in a battle for starting quarterback with Tuel being the more down field type guy which gives him the edge in my view. Marcus Easley caught seven balls for 94 yards for an impressive performance but we are talking about an Indy team that went to back ups more often than not. In any case, the offense looked great for Buffalo and the reserves on defense played well in the final 30 minutes.
Minnesota rested many of their stars and might do so again, as an injury to Adrian Petrson could mean the Vikings season is over before it starts. I'm tempted by the over because I'm assuming Minnesota would like to see more from this group...
