The New Orleans Saints and the Oakland Raiders face off on Friday in the Super Dome in a week two NFL Preseason matchup between two week one winners.

The New Orleans Saints look a little bit more like themselves than the disjointed team we saw a year ago at this time. With the coaches and players back in place the Saints are looking to get back to the post season. Drew Brees looks happy and he completed 7 of 10 passes last week against the Chiefs while Luke McCown completed 18 of 28 passes for two touchdowns and an interception. It is crowded in the Saints backfield but Mark Ingram is the starter and he carried just three times last week and Darren Sproles twice as the bulk of the load went to Travaris Cadet who averaged 3.1 yards per carry and Khiry Robinson who averaged 4.3 yards per carry. Nick Toon and Preston Parker each had four catches with Parker scoring two touchdowns and Jimmy Graham caught a pass seeing limited action. The Saints defense looked strong allowing just 215 yards as Kenny Vaccaro had six tackles and Rod Sweeting and Ramon Humber had four tackles each. Curtis Lofton had three tackles, Jabari Greer had two and Malcolm Jenkins and Roman Harper had one tackle each as we should see more from the starters this week.

The Oakland Raiders are hoping this is the year they return to the playoffs and while it’s tough to tell much from a week one preseason game the Raiders showed heart coming from behind to beat the Cowboys. The QB spot is still unsettled but favorite Matt Flynn went 4 of 5 passing against Dallas while Terrelle Pryor was 6 of 10 and while neither are being considered for the starting spot right now Tyler Wilson and Matt McGloin both looked promising. Darren McFadden carried the ball just three times against the Cowboys and he didn’t do much with it as Rashad Jennings averaged 4.3 yards per carry and Latavius Murray averaged 3.6 yards as they shouldered much of the load. The Raiders spread the passing game around with Tray Session’s three catches and Brice Butler and Andre Homes two catches each being the only receivers to catch more than one pass. The Raiders defense gave up 291 yards as Usama Young had three tackles and an interception, Phillip Adams had five tackles, and Keenan Clayton, Chimdi Chekwa, Taiwan Jones, and David Bass each had four tackles. The Raiders need some work and they need to make some decisions as to who they are going to go with but they appear to have thungs heading in the right direction; it’s just a matter of how far along things are.

The Raiders allowed the Cowboys to have their way through the air last week and that was primarily with Kyle Orton, the Raiders defense might be in big trouble here. The Saints defense on the other hand looked tough and against an offense without a true leader they should thrive again, at home.

I disagree with this article! At the end of the article the writer states Dallas had their way through the air. I think if you interviewed Toni Romo he would disagree as well, as Sio Moore recorded a sack on a play Romo couldnt find one of the first string receives open! Sure our 2nd & 3rd string might looked a little weak, but if you knew anything bout the Raider you would know our secondary better then average & they'll be just fine in the defensive backfired. The Raiders D line is the weakest link when it comes to the defense. Don't comment on teams you don't have any actual knowledge of! Thanks

Just because you don't agree with my opinion or take doesn't mean I don't know what I am talking about. The Raiders are horrible, have been for quite some time and the defense will be on the field all day long with 4 QB's who would be hard pressed to make any other roster.
