The Steelers will be home that a trip to the nation's capital will bring better fortunes as they seek their first win of the preseason against the Redskins. Washington meanwhile is coming off a one point victory over the Tennessee Titans and will look to make it two in a row with RGIII sitting on the sidelines.
The STeelers dropped their preseason opener to the New York GIants and couldn't get much going offensively as roster spots continue to take shape and reserves take most of the snaps. Oklahoma product Landry Jones saw a number of snaps in his NFL debut and he looked quite good in the process going 5/9 for 48 yards and looking in control of the STeelers' offense. Bruce Gradkowski filled in for the majority of the second half as the veteran looks to secure the backup role in Steel Town and we expect more action from the former Bengals and Raiders pivot among others in this one. Pittsburgh will be looking for a more complete team effort and put up some better numbers offensively and with Robert Griffin out for Washington the pace of the Redskins offense should be a little more predictable and easier to predict.

Washington upended the Titans by a 22-21 margin in Tennessee to open the preseason and they can make it two in a row by putting on a show for their home fans for the first time this season. As mentioned, RGIII will be out for the entire preseason as he is still recovering from offseason knee surgery but the buzz around the Redskins locker room is high as Griffin, Alfred Morris, and the rest of the team look poised for another trip to the postseason. However, the regular season is still a few weeks off and with the Skins looking deep down the depth chart until then I don't see them fidning much success. Add in the fact that Landry Jones is looking to prove his worth at the NFL level and I think we see the Steelers come through here and not only cover but win the game outright. Take the road team.
