The Houston Texans welcome the New Orleans Saints to town in week three action Sunday.
New Orleans downed Oakland 28-20 behind a near perfect first half with the first team offense and defense looking in mid season form. Drew Brees engineered five scoring drives with the Saints taking a 23-7 in to the break before miscues over the final 20 minutes allowed the Raiders to make things a lot closer. The bad news was NO could not run the ball to save their life but with Brees (14-18/202) looking ready to start the season, running the ball was not a worry. Nick Toon caught a 56 yarder from Brees and Garrett Hartley booted four field goals, while the defense held the Raiders to just 185 yards and recorded seven sacks. The second half ruined what was a sparkling performance by the Saints with mistakes costing them points and some body their job.

The scoreboard said Houston beat the Dolphins 24-17 but the real story of the game was in the boxscore and that said the Texans did what they wanted on both sides of the football. Houston rolled up 415 yards with Matt Schaub (8-11/92) getting some work before having a seat and then watching Case Keenum (11-18/150) and TJ Yates (7-9/84) compete for the back up spot. Deji Karim paced the running game with 55 yards on nine carries in an otherwise average day on the ground but the unsung hero of this contest was a terrific defense that limited the Dolphins to a mere 208 yards while forcing a pair of turnovers and sacking Miami quarterbacks six times. The Texans were not perfect with two giveaways of their own and a monster nine penalties so there are definite areas to improve upon.
To make a long story short, I favor the over here but obviously don't know how long the starters will play which makes this sort of a guessing game. Both teams are capable of scoring at any time and any place on the field so to me the over at least looks logical...
