Tomorrow kicks off the final round of preseason games, then we’re just days away from the opener to the 2013 NFL season. With things coming down to the wire now, there’s all sorts of news around the league to keep up with. That said, let’s take a look at some of the noteworthy names out there and see what everyone’s up to. Here’s the latest.

Dee Milliner, CB, New York Jets: Milliner sat out practice yesterday due to an Achilles injury, and won’t be playing in the team’s final preseason game tomorrow. That’s the bad news. The good news is that the team expects him to be out on the field in Week 1 against the Buccaneers.
The Jets are expecting big things out of Milliner, who has wrestled with a few injuries in his football career. He’s the heir apparent to star cornerback Darrelle Revis, who was traded to the Buccaneers in the off-season. Speaking of which…

Darrelle Revis, CB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: While we’re on the subject, let’s check in with Revis, who has yet to see the field in a game with Tampa Bay. Word is that he remains on track to play in the team’s opener against the Jets on September 8, however, which opens up all sorts of interesting storylines as we get closer to game day.
Revis has been practicing (and we wouldn’t be surprised if he hit the field in tomorrow night’s game) and looks like he’s made a full recovery from the torn ACL he suffered last season. He was only able to play two games in 2012, so he may be a little rusty.

David Nelson, WR, Cleveland Browns: A couple of seasons ago when Nelson was a member of the Buffalo Bills, he was a promising young receiver who looked like he was ready to take a big step forward in his career. Things took a turn for the worse during last season’s opener, though, when he tore his ACL and missed the rest of the season.
Nelson signed with Cleveland this off-season and hasn’t been able to get on the field yet, but he’s reportedly healthy and will play tomorrow night. If he plays well, he’ll make the Browns roster and provide the team with some additional skill and depth. There’s no doubt Nelson can play: he notched 658 yards and five touchdowns with the Bills in 2011.

Colts TE Health: One tight end situation we’re watching closely is the dynamic in Indianapolis between Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen. Both players showed flashes of brilliance last season with QB Andrew Luck under center, and the Colts hope to continue that strong play with their TE tandem in 2013. Things haven’t gone so well thus far when it comes to injuries, however, as both players had to sit out the third preseason game.
Fleener is fighting off a sprained knee and Allen has been dealing with a foot injury. The good news is that both players are expected to be on the field for the Colts’ opener. If both players can stay healthy, they’ll prove valuable weapons within the Indianapolis offense.

Ryan Williams, RB, Arizona Cardinals: It looks like Cardinals fans will be able to get a good long look at Williams tomorrow. He’s expected to take the majority of the carries in the game against the Broncos, and a solid performance could put to rest any uneasiness the coaching staff has with him.
On the other hand, if Williams plays well tomorrow he could end up as trade bait, as the Cardinals were rumored to be shopping him around early this week. We could be seeing some big changes in the Arizona backfield very soon.
