The Tennessee Titans look to even their record with a victory over the Minnesota Vikings in preparation for week one.
Tennessee knocked of visiting Atlanta 27-16 to pick up their first win of preseason. The final score was impressive enough but it was indicative of the performance on the field. The Titans held the Falcons first team to a mere two field goals in to the third quarter while their own first team handed the reserves a 20-6 bulge. Jake Locker (11-13/133) and Ryan Fitzpatrick (6-9/76) had their way with the Falcons secondary with a combined three touchdowns, while the run had a solid day as well with 176 yards on 36 carries. Atlanta did move the ball at times on the Tennessee defense behind 138 passing yards from Matt Ryan, but the Titans stopped two first quarter drives at their 13 and 6 to force a pair of field goals.

Minnesota took another one on the chin in 34-14 loss to San Francisco to drop to 0-3 in the preseason. The Vikings don't seem to put much stock in the preseason and that has shown up on the scoreboard. At least Adrian Peterson will be fresh because he hasn't played a down and that has obviously has hurt this team from a scoring stand point and Christian Ponder (17-23/116) tried but couldn't get it done with a pair of scoring throws and an interception. Ponder's effort was a lone bright spot in an other wise poor effort on both sides of the ball, with the Vikes being out gained 356-214. Minnesota mustered just 86 rushing yards without their star in the back field but my concern is this team has not only lost but looked bad in doing that with little enthusiasm.
Minnesota has simply looked awful thus far and I don't think it matters who plays Thursday, while the Titans have at least shown a heart beat and have won. I follow the Vikings and the spread says it all with the home team getting points. I'm taking Minnesota and would be greatly surprised if they don't fall all over themselves so no I'm not betting them...
