The New York Giants look to shake off a dismal outing on the road in Carolina as they head to Arrowhead in Kansas City to face the undefeated Chiefs.
The New York Giants have had a history of getting off to slow starts before turning things up towards the end of the year and if they want any shot at making the playoffs they better hope they can right the ship in a hurry or else they’ll fall to 0-4, which is essentially a ticket to watching from the sidelines in January. The Giants are winless on the season as they have losses to the Cowboys, Broncos, and Panthers and now must face off against another up and comer as the Kansas City Chiefs sit in a tie with the Broncos through three weeks of game play. Eli Manning has looked very average this season despite his strong effort against the Cowboys and if he can’t get himself back to an MVP type form than it could be a very long season and certainly a coaching change by season’s end. The running back situation hasn’t helped matters as David Wilson can’t seem to get a grasp on his starter’s role nor the football and as such the G-Men are in shambles and looking desperately for answers. Facing an Andy Reid coached team, whom is very familiar with the Giants from his days coaching with the Eagles in the NFC East isn’t exactly what the doctor ordered and could spell an early end to the Giants playoff hopes.

Kansas City is a team on the rise and while a lot of people had them pegged as an up and comer last year they flopped hard only mustering two victories, a total they have already surpassed this season. Bringing in Alex Smith was a huge upgrade giving the Chiefs some stability at the position and Andy Reid has looked very smart through his team’s first three games of the year. Jamaal Charles remains one of the game’s best feature backs and he should have success against a Giants team who hasn’t been able to do much defensively and is coming off a 38 point drubbing at the hands of the Carolina Panthers. While the Giants have looked awful and the Chiefs are undefeated and playing at home with a couple extra day’s rest I think this game is closer than people think and I think New York will bounce back as they have too much talent to be where they are. The noise level at Arrowhead could play a factor and the Chiefs passing defense has been very aggressive which could play into their favour, especially if David Wilson can’t move the ball but I’m going to have the benefit of the doubt one last time to New York who is playing for their season.
