The Miami Dolphins and the Baltimore Ravens face off on Sunday in Miami in a week five NFL AFC match up.
The Miami Dolphins started the season unbeaten going 3-0 but it all came to a crashing halt as the Dolphins lost on Monday Night in New Orleans. The Dolphins are clearly an improved team over last season but they are still a work in progress with some growing to do. The Miami offense is averaging 22.8 points per game and 322.2 yards. Ryan Tannehill has completed 65.5 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and five interceptions while being sacked 18 times. Lamar Miller is averaging 4.6 yards per carry with two touchdowns and Daniel Thomas is averaging just 2.8 yards per carry with two touchdowns. Brian Hartline s the leading Dolphins receiver with 21 catches and two touchdowns, Charles Clay and Brandon Gibson have 20 catches each, and Mike Wallace has 15 catches and a touchdown. Defensively the Dolphins are allowing 22.8 points and 395.2 yards per game with five interceptions, 11 sacks, and four fumble recoveries. Dannell Ellerbee has 38 tackles, REshad Jones has 28 tackles, and Phillip Wheeler has 25 tackles.

The Baltimore Ravens are off to a 2-2 start that puts them in a tie for first place in the AFC North. After losing in Denver in their opener the Ravens won their next two games before falling short last week in Buffalo. The Baltimore offense is averaging 22.8 points per game and 317.5 yards. Joe Flacco is completing 57.4 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and seven interceptions while being sacked 12 times. The Ravens running game needs to improve as Bernard Pierce is averaging 2.7 yards per carry with two touchdowns and Ray Rice who has been banged up is averaging 3.0 yards per carry with a touchdown. Torrey Smith leads the Ravens receivers with 21 catches and a touchdown, Dallas Clark has 16 catches, and Marlon Brown has 14 catches and three touchdowns. The Ravens defense is allowing 21.8 points and 345.8 yards per game with three interceptions, 13 sacks, and five fumble recoveries. Daryl Smith has 37 tackles and two interceptions, Terrell Suggs has 31 tackles and four sacks, and Josh Byrnes has 27 tackles. At ties the Ravens have looked like the champions they were a year ago and at other times they have looked lost.
Miami is 5-0 against the spread in their last five home games, 4-1 against the spread following a loss by 14 or more points, and 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games overall. Baltimore is 5-0 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games, and 3-0-1 against the spread in their last four road games against a team with a winning home record.
Miami has bounced back well from bad losses under Philbin and look for them to do the same here but issue here is the books look dialed in so this number is one to avoid but if you must, Miami is the play.
