The Jacksonville Jaguars will look to make history as they head to Denver to take on the Broncos who have done nothing but make history this season in what is the most lopsided game on paper in league history.
It is no secret that the Jacksonville Jaguars are a very bad football team but this week’s matchup against the Denver Broncos is taking things to another level as this is an absolute matchup nightmare. It has become public knowledge that the Jags have put up as many points this season, fifty one, as the Broncos put up last week on the road against the Dallas Cowboys and with Denver being the best team outside of maybe the Seahawks to have had the luxury of seeing the Jags on their schedule you can expect another beat down this weekend. The Jags will go back to Chad Henne as Blaine Gabbert continues to battle injury but regardless of who it is behind centre it is going to be hard for the Jags to move the ball against a strong Broncos defense and it will certainly be next to impossible for the Jaguars to keep pace with the Broncos in terms of scoring. To be honest this game looks to be a bit ugly but I anticipate that the Broncos will get up big and then possibly play some reserves and run the ball all day which could enable the Jags to cover this monstrosity of a spread in garbage time.

Denver has been magical to watch through the first five weeks of the season and with three more games until their well-deserved bye week I think we can expect more of the same from the blue and orange as they chase history this season. Peyton Manning has been remarkable and has thrown 20 touchdowns so far this season which is a solid season for most quarterbacks let alone five weeks. Denver is solid in every aspect of the game and they’ll be even better once they get Von Miller back next week and with the Jaguars on tap here I expect a stomping once again by the Broncos. However, four touchdowns is a little bit heavy even though it is the Broncos and how good they’ve been and the Jaguars and how bad they’ve been in Denver but I still think this line is out of whack. Denver could very well win this game by a 49-3 type mark and easily cover the 28 but I think Chad Henne, MJD, and Cecil Shorts will do their best to maintain some sense of dignity and pride and a late back door cover is what I can foresee happening in this contest. For what it’s worth I will take the Jags but am not confident in this play at all.
