The San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals face off on Sunday in a week 6 NFL battle of NFC West teams.
The San Francisco 49ers got off to a slow start to the season but they appear to have figured things out and are rolling once again. The 49ers are averaging 22.6 points and 321.8 yards per game with an even turnover margin. Starting QB Colin Kaepernick as completed 56.1 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and four interceptions while being sacked 11 times and he has rushed for 154 yards. Frank Gore is averaging 4.8 yards per carry with three touchdowns and Kendall Hunter is averaging 4.0 yards per carry with two touchdowns. Defensively the 49ers are allowing 19.6 points and 302.4 yards with six interceptions, 13 sacks, and four fumble recoveries, NaVorro Bowman has 47 tackles, Ahmad Brooks has 28 tackles, and Donte Whitner has 25 tackles. San Francisco appears to be a handful at this point.

The Arizona Cardinals are flying under the radar but at 3-2 for the season thus far they have already shown to be a much improved team over the team we saw fade over the final months of the season last year. It all revolves around the defense as offensively the Cardinals average just 18.2 points and 306.2 yards per game. QB Carson Palmer has completed 58.9 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and nine interceptions while being sacked 12 times. Rashard Mendenhall is averaging 3.2 yards per carry with two touchdowns and he has nine catches out of the backfield and Andre Ellington averages 6.7 yards per carry and he has 13 catches with a touchdown. Larry Fitzgerald leads the Cardinals in receiving with 24 catches and three touchdowns and Michael Floyd as 21 catches. The Arizona defense allows 19 points and 343.4 yards per game with seven interceptions, 14 sacks, and three fumble recoveries. Karlos Dansby is off to a Pro Bowl start with 45 tackles and two sacks, Tyrann Mathieu has 34 tackles, and Patrick Peterson has three interceptions and this defense should only get better as in his first game back Daryl Washington had nine tackles and an interception. Not many are paying a lot of attention to the Cardinals but they are a dangerous team.
San Francisco is 17-7-1 against the spread in their last 25 home games, 4-1 against the spread against the NFC, and 1-5 against the spread against the NFC West. Arizona is 5-1 against the spread in their last six games, 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games, and 5-1 against the spread against the NFC. The road team has covered the spread in 11 of the last 15 meetings of these two football teams.
The total is set to the low side in this one and for good reason as we have two teams who pride themselves on hard hitting and solid defense and I see this one staying under the number. I will post the team who will cover the point spread in the Premium Area.
