The Seattle Seahawks take the field against the St Louis Rams in Monday Night Football.
I keep waiting for Seattle to slip up but at 6-1 they have been rock steady with just a six point defeat at Indianapolis marring perfection. The Seahawks are one of a handful of teams that can win with their scoring and defense and are simply a handful when both sides of the ball are at the top of their game. The number two defense in the NFL wasn't quite as ferocious last Sunday but the offense was in leading them to a 34-22 victory at Arizona. Seattle never trailed but didn't put the pesky Cardinals away until the third quarter but their balanced attack was too much for the run challenged Cardinals who totaled 30 rushing yards while Marshawn Lynch totaled 91 yards on 17 totes himself. Russell Wilson completed 18-29 for 235 yards with three touchdowns as Seattle overcame a pair of lost fumbles and ten penalties.

As far as competing for the NFC West crown is concerned, St Louis is already in no man's land with Seattle and San Francisco running one, two in the division. Of course the news is even worse for the Rams who saw quarterback Sam Bradford lost for the season with a torn ACL during a 30-15 defeat at Carolina. It's even worse considering St Louis is only #18 in the league with 22 points per contest. Throw in the fact the defense gives up 26 points and any loss is magnified. I don't know if anything would have saved the Rams Sunday with less then 65 rushing yards with Bradford going 21-30 for 255 yards with a touchdown and a pick six before going down. This game boiled down to nothing more then St Louis turning the ball over three times with the Panthers there to take advantage.
My first thought is this is a lot of points to give to a division foe on the road even for Seattle. My second thought is Kellen Clemens has his work cut out for him against the Seattle defense so I'm inclined to lay the points...
