The Line: St. Louis Rams +3 -- Over/Under: 43 See the Latest Odds

The St. Louis Rams and the Tennessee Titans face off on Sunday in St. Louis in a NFL week 9 matchup.

The St. Louis Rams appear to be putting all of the pieces in place but they are 3-5 and in last place in the ultra competitive NFC West. The Rams offense is averaging 20.6 points and 303.8 yards and they are plus one in turnover ratio. Sam Bradford is out for the season so it is career backup Kellen Clemens who completed 48.6 percent of his passes thus far this season. Zac Stacy has emerged as the top option in the backfield averaging 4.6 yards per carry and Daryl Richardson averages 3.1 yards per carry and he has 14 receptions. Tavon Austin has 31 catches, Jared Cook has 29 catches, and Austin Pettis has 27 catches and four touchdowns. Defensively the Rams are allowing 24.8 points and 343.6 yards per game with five interceptions, 25 sacks, and 12 fumble recoveries. James Laurinaitis has 58 tackles, Alec Ogletree has 53 tackles, and Robert Quinn has 10 sacks. With Bradford on the shelf it is another wait until next year for the Rams.

The Tennessee Titans have a losing record at 304 this season but that is good enough for second place in the AFC South so far this season. The Titans offense is averaging 20.7 points and 311.6 yards and the are plus six in turnover ratio. Jake Locker has completed 61.8 percent of his passes for 1,047 yards with eight touchdowns and an interception and he has been sacked 12 times. Chris Johnson has rushed for 368 yards and he has caught 15 passes with two touchdowns. Kendall Wright has 40 receptions, Nate Washington has 26 catches, and Delanie Walker has 23 catches and three touchdowns. The Titans defense allows 20.9 points and 337 yards per game with six interceptions, 20 sacks, and seven fumble recoveries. Bernard Pollard has 47 tackles, Zach Brown has 44 tackles, and Moise Fokou has 40 tackles. The Titans are in position to have a chance at the playoffs but it is going to take some strong play and a win in a game like this is a must.

St. Luis is 5-2 against the spread following a loss, 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 home games against a team with a losing road record, and 2-5 against the spread after rushing for more than 150 yards in their previous game. Tennessee is 4-1-1 against the spread following a loss, 7-3 against the spread against a team with a losing record, and 5-2-1 against the spread in their last eight games overall. Tennessee is 3-0-1 against the spread in the last four meetings of these two.

Tennessee is a road favorite here and while Clemens didn’t look awful on Monday against the Seahawks he isn’t a viable option as an NFL QB if you want to win football games.
