The New Orleans Saints and the Dallas Cowboys face off on Sunday Night in The Big Easy for a Sunday Night Football matchup of two first place NFL teams.
The New Orleans Saints are coming off of their second loss of the season as they had it taken to them physically on the road by the New York Jets. For the season the Saints offense is averaging 27 points and 397.4 yards per game and they are plus six in turnover ratio. Drew Brees is having another gigantic year completing 6.1 percent of his passes for 2,672 yards with 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions while being sacked 20 times. Pierre Thomas leads the Saints rushing attack with 277 yards and he has 39 receptions and two touchdowns but Darren Sproles left last week’s game with a concussion and he is questionable for this one. Jimmy Graham continues to be the NFL’s best receiving tight end with 49 receptions and 10 touchdowns and Marques Colston has 27 catches. Defensively the Saints are allowing 18.2 points and 333.1 yards per game with nine interceptions, 6 sacks, and 10 fumble recoveries. Curtis Lofton has 67 tackles, Cameron Jordan has six sacks, and Keenan Lewis has three interceptions. The Saints had a big lead in the NFC South but they are now looking over their shoulders at the Carolina Panthers.

The Dallas Cowboys have had their share of ups and downs this season but they have been good enough to sit in first place in the NFC East. The Cowboys offense is averaging 28.6 points and 342.8 yards per game and they are plus 10 in turnover ratio. Tony Romo has completed 66.2 percent of his passes for 2,553 yards with 20 touchdowns and six interceptions and he has been sacked 19 times. DeMarco Murray has rushed for 459 yards and three touchdowns and he has caught 30 passes out of the backfield. Dez Bryant has 51 receptions and eight touchdowns, Jason Witten has 45 catches and four touchdowns, and Terrance Williams has 28 catches and four touchdowns. The Cowboys defense allows 23.2 points and a 31st ranked 419.2 yards per game with 12 interceptions, 23 sacks, and 11 fumble recoveries. Sean Lee has 90 tackles and four interceptions, Barry Church has 66 tackles, and Jason Hatcher has seven sacks. The NFC East has been fairly soft for the first the half of the season but expect it to get tougher as teams are still in the hunt for the division title.
New Orleans is 6-2 against the spread following a loss, 14-3 against the spread in their last 17 home games against a team with a winning road record, and 12-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Dallas is 5-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 5-2 against the spread following a win, and 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games. Dallas is 2-6 against the spread in the last eight meetings of these two teams.
The total here looks to be just way too low and the over looks almost too easy but that is my free pick here. I will also have a play on who will cover the spread and I will post that Pick on Sunday in the Premium Area as well as on the Sports Chat Place App.
