The New York Giants and the Oakland Raiders face off on Sunday in the Meadowlands in a battle of two teams looking to regain their footing.
The New York Giants are in last place in the NFC East and while they have won two games in a row the playoffs look to be nothing but a pipe dream. The Giants offense is averaging a 30th ranked 17.6 points per game and 327.8 yards per game including a 30th ranked 69.9 rushing yards per game and they have a miserable minus 12 turnover ratio. Eli Manning has completed 55.7 percent of his passes for 2,167 yards with 10 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Being a Giants running back has meant a trip to the IR as David Wilson is out and Brandon Jacobs has missed the last two games but Peyton Hillis has filled in and Andre Brown may be ready to return this week. Victor Cruz has 47 receptions and four touchdowns, Hakeem Nicks has 34 catches, and Rueben Randle and Brandon Myers have 23 catches each. The Giants defense allows 27.9 points and 344.2 yards per game with seven interceptions, 10 sacks, and eight fumble recoveries. Ryan Mundy has 48 tackles, Prince Amukamara has 45 tackles, and Anrel Rolle has three interceptions. The Giants aren’t completely out of it but they can’t afford more bad losses and turnovers.

The Oakland Raiders are coming off of a roasting at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles in a game where they were thrown on at will. The Raiders offense is averaging 18.2 points and 345.5 yards per game with a minus three turnover ratio. Terrelle Pryor has completed 61.1 percent of his passes for 1,437 yards with five touchdowns and nine interceptions and he has rushed for 485 yards. Darren McFadden has rushed for 352 yards and four touchdowns and Rashad Jennings has rushed for 242 yards. Denariu Moore has 32 receptions and four touchdowns and Rod Streater has 28 catches. The Raiders defense has allowed 24.9 points and 357.2 yards per game with five interceptions, 23 sacks, and seven fumble recoveries. Nick Roach has 57 tackles, Kevin Burnett has 56 tackles, and Charles Woodson has 45 tackles. The Raiders will need to put last week behind them in a hurry.
New York is 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games against a team with a losing road record, 1-3-1 against the spread following a game that they allowed less than 15 points, and 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games on field turf. Oakland is 6-1 against the spread following a loss, 5-0 against the spread following a game which they didn’t cover the point spread, and 0-5 against the spread after allowing 30 or more points their prior game. The favorite has covered the spread in the last four meetings of these two.
The Raiders secondary was toasted last week and facing Eli Manning following a bye week it could be even worse this week.
