The Houston Texans and the Oakland Raiders face off in a week 11 NFL battle of struggling teams.
The Houston Texans have been one of the biggest downside surprises this season in all of football but they look to at least put things together through the second half of the season. The Texans offense is averaging 18.9 points and 376.2 yards per game and they are minus nine in turnover ratio. Case Keenum has taken over at QB and e has completed just 55.9 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns but he hasn’t thrown an interception. With Arian Foster out the Texans start Ben Tate at running back and he is averaging 4.4 yards per carry. Andre Johnson has 62 receptions and five touchdowns and DeAndre Hopkins has 37 catches and two touchdowns. The Texans defense allows 27.6 points per game and 280 yards as they have been put in plenty of bad spots. J.J. Watt has 42 tackles and 6.5 sacks, and Whitney Mercilus and Antonio Smith each have 4.5 sacks. The Texans were supposed to contend for the Super Bowl this season.

The Oakland Raiders were hoping to take a step forward this season but instead it has been much of the same sloppy football we have grown accustomed to seeing from them. The Raiders offense is averaging 18.4 points and 330.8 yards per game and they have a minus two turnover ratio. Terrelle Pryor has completed 58.9 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and 10 interceptions and he has rushed for 504 yards. Darren McFadden has rushed for 352 yards and four touchdowns and Rashad Jennings as rushed for 330 yards and he has 20 receptions. Denarius Moore has 35 receptions and four touchdowns and Rod Streater has 29 catches. The Raiders defense allows 24.8 points and 345.4 yards per game. Nick Roach has 64 tackles, Kevin Burnett has 60 tackles, and Charles Woodson has 52 tackles. The Raiders again appear headed towards the top of the NFL draft.
Houston is 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 games, 0-4 against the spread in their last four games, and 1-5 against the spread against the AFC. Oakland is 7-1 against the spread following a loss, 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five road games, and 1-8-1 against the spread in their last 10 games following a game that they covered the spread. The underdog has covered the point spread in five of the last seven meetings of these two.
The Raiders pass defense hasn’t looked good recently and they are in trouble here as the Texans should open up the passing game and are set up for one of their best games of the year.
