The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be hosting the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday as the Bucs look to add their second win to their season total this weekend.
The Tampa Bay Bucs finally got their first win of the season this past Monday night, although the Bucs have played (at times anyway) much better than a winless team normally does. The Bucs defeated the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football 22-19. As the score probably suggests, it definitely wasn’t the prettiest game to watch, but still, a win is a win and when you were previously 0-8 on the year, you’ll take it how you can get it. The Bucs offense is still ranked 30th in the league through the air this season, but there has been a definite improvement in this offense once Mike Glennon took over under center. Tampa and their zone running attack has been effective, although the Bucs lost another back this past weekend, losing Mike James to injury. The defense for Tampa has been very solid, especially run defense, which is currently ranked fifth in the league. The pass defense is ranked 14th currently, but the Bucs are playing better as of late as Reevis now appears to be at full health, and we once again have Reevis island in the NFL.

The Atlanta Falcons are a complete mess this season as the Falcons are just 2-7 on the year, and on the road, the Falcons are 0-4 overall. Atlanta is coming off a beat down delivered by Seattle this past weekend, as the Seahawks dismantled this team, defeating Atlanta 33-10. The Falcons gave up 145 yards on the ground to Lynch, and Wilson torched the Falcon secondary for 287 yards. The Falcons defense as a whole is ranked as one of the worst units in the league this year, as Atlanta is ranked 27th against the run, and 25th against the pass on the season. Matt Ryan and the passing attack are moving the ball for the Falcons, but Atlanta has zero run game this year, ranking last in the league, averaging a horrible 64.3 yards per game on the ground.
The Atlanta Falcons are just 2-7 against the spread on the year, and on the road, the Falcons are 0-4 against the number. Also, when playing as a favorite this season, the Flacons are just 2-2 against the spread.
The Tampa Bay Bucs are a horrible 3-6 against the number on the season, and at home, the Bucs are 2-3 against the spread. When playing as an underdog this season, the Bucs are 3-4 against the spread. These two teams met earlier in the season in Atlatna, where the Falcons defeated the Bucs 31-23.
This is probably the most boring game of the week to watch in the NFL. Neither team has shown much this season, and with the Falcons playing the way they have on the year, Atlatna could easily be considered one of the biggest disappointments of the season so far.
I personally won’t be playing this game as putting your money behind either team is risky, but having to choose, I’ll take the Bucs at home. Tampa will remember their loss to the Falcons earlier in the season, and the Bucs have some momentum right now. Tampa is also playing their second home game in a row, and this Falcons team has been horrible on the road this year. I’m taking the Bucs to get the narrow win over the Flacons at home on Sunday.
