The Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets face off on Sunday in Baltimore in week 12 NFL action.
The Baltimore Ravens sat through another weather delay last week in Chicago and like opening night in Denver in the end they took a loss. The Ravens are in a three way tie for second place in the AFC North but at this point it is more realistic for them to look at a Wildcard spot. The Ravens offense is averaging 20.8 points and 308.5 yards per game. Joe Flacco has completed 58.6 percent of his passes for 2,469 yards for 13 touchdowns with 13 interceptions and he has been sacked 33 times. Ray Rice has rushed for just 420 yards with four touchdowns averaging 3.0 yards per carry and he has 36 receptions. Torrey Smith has 46 receptions and three touchdowns and Dallas Clark has 27 catches and three touchdowns. The Ravens defense allows just 21.2 points and 339.9 yards per game but they are minus five in turnover ratio. Daryl Smith has 86 tackles, Terrell Suggs has 65 tackles and nine sacks, and James Ihedigbo has 61 tackles and two interceptions. While the Ravens aren’t out of the post-season picture they can’t afford too many more losses.

The New York Jets are 5-5 on the season and in second place in the AFC East and they control their own playoff destiny. The Jets have won one and lost one all season long and they are coming off of a loss in this game. The Jets offense averages 18.3 points and 324.8 yards per game. Geno Smith has completed 56.3 percent of his passes for 2,100 yards with eight touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Bilal Powell has rushed for 441 yards and Chris Ivory has rushed for 467 yards. Jeremy Kerley has 28 catches and Stephen Hill has 23 catches. Defensively the Jets allow 26.8 points and 324 yards per game and they are a miserable minus 14 in turnover ratio. David Harris has 77 tackles, Demario Davis has 70 tackles, and Muhammed Wilkerson has 8 sacks. The Jets have struggled often but if they can string together a few wins they would be a playoff team.
Baltimore is 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, 5-0 against the spread after passing for less than 150 yards in their previous game, and 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games on field turf. New York is 4-0 against the spread following a loss, 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games, and 1-5 against the spread against a team with a losing record. New York has covered the point spread in just one of the last six meetings of these two.
This should be a physical game so I like the idea of getting more than a field goal even if it means taking the Jets.
