The New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys face off on Sunday for a week 12 NFL NFC East battle.
The New York Giants struggled out of the gate this season including a sloppy loss at Dallas to open the season but they have put it together of late and they are hoping to make a playoff run. The Giants have played a more conservative game as they have been looking to avoid the turnovers that we doing them in earlier in the year. The Giants offense is averaging 19.2 points and 320.7 yards per game. Eli manning has completed 57.1 percent of his passes for 2,586 yards with 12 touchdowns and 17 interceptions and he has been sacked 26 times. Andre brown has returned from injury and he is carrying the load in the running game and Brandon Jacobs is getting situational carries. Victor Cruz has 58 catches and four touchdowns, Hakeem Nicks as 42 catches, and Ruben Randle has six receiving touchdowns. Defensively the Giants are allowing 25.6 points and 336.1 yards per game but they are minus 11 in turnover ratio. Antrel Rolle has 56 tackles, Prince Amukamara has 55 tackles, and Ryan Mundy has 49 tackles. The NFC playoff race is wide open and the Giants are far from out of it.

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off of a bye week but over that week they fell out of first place in the NFC East. The Cowboys trail the Eagles by a half of a game but they are even in the loss column. Tony Romo has completed 64.6 percent of his passes for 2,681 yards with 21 touchdowns and six interceptions. Demarco Murray has rushed for 548 yards and four touchdowns to pace the Cowboys ground attack. Dez Bryant has 52 caches and eight touchdowns and Jason Witten has 47 catches and four touchdowns. The Dallas defense allows 25.8 points per game and 439.8 yards and they are plus 11 in turnover ratio. Sean Lee has 93 tackles, Barry Church has 80 tackles, and Jason Hatcher has seven sacks. The Cowboys have had their share of struggles but they are still very much in the mix for a playoff spot.
New York is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, 2-5 against the spread following a game in which they covered the spread, and 4-0 against the spread against the NFC. Dallas is 4-1 against the spread following a loss, 5-2 against the spread against the NFC, and 1-6 against the spread against a team with a losing record. The road team has covered the spread in five of the last seven meetings of these two.
The road team and the underdog seem to do well in this series and I don’t see this one being any different so Dallas is my play here.
