The Oakland Raiders and the Tennessee Titans face off on Sunday in the Black Hole in week 12 NFL football action.
The Oakland Raiders haven’t been able to do much consistently this season but even so they are still in the crowded playoff race in the AFC. The Raiders have little room for error but they have shown the ability to play with and beat anyone on any given Sunday. The Raiders offense is averaging 19.4 points and 331.8 yards per game. Terrelle Pryor missed lasts weeks game and he is questionable once again this week but Matt McGloin did an admirable job filling in and leading the Raiders to a win. Darren McFadden should be back this week and he is averaging 3.6 yards per carry but Rashad Jennings has been filling in and averaging 5.2 yards per carry with 23 receptions. Denarius Moore has 37 receptions and five touchdowns and Rod Streater has 35 catches and two touchdowns. Defensively the Raiders are allowing 24.6 points and 350.3 yards per game and they are dead even in turnover ratio. Nich Roach has 68 tackles, Kevin Burnett has 67 tackles, and Lamarr Houston has five sacks. The Raiders seem to surprise everyone just when they have been counted out but then again when they are counted back in.

The Tennessee Titans are 4-6 on the season but they have lost five of their last six games. They have an extra few days to prepare for this one with their last game being on a Thursday but after blowing a big lead to Indy and losing the prior week to Jacksonville the Titans are heading in the wrong direction. The Titans offense is averaging 22.7 points and 324.6 yards per game. Jake Locker is gone for the season and Ryan Fitzpatrick has taken over at QB and he has completed 61.2 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and four interceptions. Chris Johnson has gained 632 yards on the ground and he has 24 receptions. Kendall Wright has 59 catches and Delanie Walker has 39 catches and five touchdowns. The Tennessee defense allows 22.6 points and 330.2 yards per game and they are plus three in turnover ratio. Bernard Pollard has 63 tackles, Zach Brown has 56 tackles, and Jurrell Casey has seven sacks. While the Titans aren’t out of the playoff hunt they will need to get it together now.
Oakland is 5-2 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 7-3-1 against the spread in their last 11 games overall, and 0-4-1 against the spread following a win. Tennessee is 5-2-1 against the spread following a loss, 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games against a team with a losing home record. The home team has covered the point spread in five of the last seven meetings of these two.
The Raiders are just a mild favorite here but I expect this one to be tough to watch and I look for this one to come in under the number and that is my free pick here. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that pick against the spread in the Premium Area.
