The Philadelphia Eagles and the Arizona Cardinals face off on Sunday in a NFL battle of playoff hopefuls.
The Philadelphia Eagles are tied for first place in the NFC East and they have won their last three games in a row. The Eagles are tied with the Cowboys for first place in the NFC East but the Cowboys own the better division record and a win over the Eagles. Nick Foles has been outstanding completing 63.6 percent of his passes for 16 touchdowns with no interceptions and he is now the clear starter in Philadelphia. LeSean McCoy has rushed for 1,009 Yards and five touchdowns and he has 34 receptions. DeSean Jackson has 58 receptions and seven touchdowns and Riley Cooper has 31 catches and seven touchdowns. DeMeco Ryans has 96 tackles, Mychal Kendircks has 68 tackles, and Nate Allen has 63 tackles. The Eagles offense is averaging 25.1 points and 412.4 yards while defensively they are allowing 23.6 points and 417.9 yards. The Eagles seem to have finally jelled under Chip Kelly.

The Arizona Cardinals have won their last four in a row and if the season ended today they would be in the playoffs. The Cardinals have some tough work ahead but beating the Eagles would certainly help them in the Wildcard race. Carson Palmer has completed 63.3 percent of his passes with 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Rashard Mendenhall is averaging 3.0 yards per carry with five touchdowns. Larry Fitzgerald leads the Cardinals with 50 receptions and eight touchdowns and Michael Floyd has 49 catches and three touchdowns. Karlos Dansby has 88 tackles and 3.0 sacks, Tyrann Mathieu has 65 tackles, and John Abraham has seven sacks. The Cardinals offense is averaging 23.1 points and 3334 yards per game while defensively they are allowing 20.3 points and 317.1 yards. Arizona relies on their defense and winning the turnover battle.
Philadelphia is 5-2 against the spread against the NFC, 10-4 against the spread following a bye week, and 1-8-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Arizona is 2-6-1 against the spread in their last nine road games against a team with a winning home record, 0-5 against the spread following a win of more than 14 points, and 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games played on grass. Arizona has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
While offense is flashy and can get it done against the weaker teams the late season and playoffs belongs to the defense and the Cards have the edge there and I will take them with the points.
