The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans face off on Thursday Night on the NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football.
The Jacksonville Jaguars lost their first eight games of the season but they have now won three of their last four and are playing their best football of the season. The Jaguars beat the Texans just two games back in Houston 13-6. Chad Henne has completed 61.4 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and 10 interceptions and he has been sacked 27 times. Maurice Jones-Drew is still running hard with 616 yards and five touchdowns and Jordan Todman is averaging 3.4 yards per carry. Cecil Shorts has 64 receptions and two touchdowns and Ace Sanders has 36 receptions. Paul Posluszny is looking like a Pro Bowler with 113 tackles, John Cyprien has 78 tackles, and Geno Hayes has 75 tackles. The Jacksonville offense is averaging 14.5 points and 285.6 yards per game while defensively they are allowing 29.3 points and their opponents gain 381.1 yards per game. Jacksonville still has their share of issues but they look like they have bounced off of the bottom.

The Houston Texans are one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL this season as they entered the season as one of the favorite and they are now contenders to get the number one over all pick in the NFL Draft. Case Keenum is starting these days at QB for the Texans and he has completed 54.2 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and three interceptions. Ben Tate as taken over full time for the injured Arian Foster and he is averaging 4.3 yards per carry with four touchdowns. Andre Johnson has 82 receptions and five touchdowns and DeAndre Hopkins and Garrett Graham each have 41 receptions. J.J. Watt is having a big year with 61 tackles and 9.5 sacks, Darryl Sharpton has 60 tackles, and Whitney Mercilus has 6.0 sacks. The Texans offense is averaging 19.2 points and 365.2 yards per game while defensively they are allowing 26.9 points and their opponents score 26.9 points and gain 303.9 yards per game. The Texans have played well in spots and led many times but they have been unable to close out games.
Jacksonville is 5-12 against the spread in their last 17 games, 2-8-1 against the spread following a win, and 4-1 against the spread against the AFC. Houston is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games, 3-10 against the spread in their last 13 games, and 0-4 against the spread against the AFC South. The road team is 4-0-1 against the spread I the last five meetings of these two.
This one looks miserable and with the total set at 43 I like the under here in a sloppy game. I also have a play on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
