The Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons face off on Sunday at Lambeau Field in a week 14 NFL matchup.
The Green Bay Packers sit at 5-6-1 and while they are still alive in the playoff race, it is quickly getting away from them. The Packers have four losses and a tie in their last five games and that puts them in third place in the NFC North. With Aaron Rodgers still out. it looks like it will be Matt Flynn once again and while Flynn knows the Packers system, he hasn’t done much with it yet. Eddie Lacy has rushed for 822 yards and six touchdowns and he has taken over the bulk of the Green Bay rushing attack. Jordy Nelson is the Packers leading receiver with 63 receptions and James jones has 37. A.J. Hawk is the leader of the Packers defense with 103 tackles and 5.0 sacks, Brad Jones has 70 tackles, and Morgan Burnett has 72 tackles. The Green Bay offense is averaging 24.5 points and 399.5 yards per game, while defensively they allow 25.4 points and 376.4 yards per game. Aside from missing Rodgers, the Packers haven’t created the turnovers that they have been known for over the years.

The Atlanta Falcons are coming off of a rare win, but this season has been a disaster as they sit in last place in the NFC South. A combination of injuries and poor play has sent the Falcons to their worst record in several years. Matt Ryan has completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions and he has been sacked 30 times. Both Steven Jackson and Jacquizz Rodgers are averaging 3.5 yards per carry and they have five touchdowns between them. Harry Douglas has 66 receptions to lead Atlanta, while Tony Gonzalez has 62 catches and five touchdowns. Paul Worrilow is the Falcons leading tackler with 89, William Moore has 67, and Osi Umenyiora has 6.5 sacks. The Falcons offense is averaging 21.8 points and 354.4 yards per game, while defensively they are allowing 28.3 points and 383.2 yards per game. The Falcons will be drafting high in this year’s draft and they should be able to fill some needs that have built up over the past few years.
Green Bay is 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 home games, 15-6-1 against the spread in their last 22 home games against a team with a losing road record, and 0-5 against the spread in their last five games overall. Atlanta is 2-5 against the spread following a game that they covered the spread, 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games, and 0-4 against the spread following a win. The road team has covered the point spread in five of the last six meetings of these two.
Green Bay hasn't looked worthy of being a favorite against anyone, especially getting better than a field goal. The play here is Atlanta.
