The Line: Cleveland Browns -2.5 -- Over/Under: 46 See the Latest Odds
The Cleveland Browns and the Chicago Bears face off on Sunday in Cleveland in a battle of two of the most storied franchises in the NFL.
The Cleveland Browns have lost their last four games in a row and seven of their last eight and once again appear to be headed towards a top 10 draft pick in the NFL Draft. The Brows have had issues across the board, but despite losing plenty they have been competitive in most of their games. Jason Campbell started last week at QB, but he has been on again, off again with Brando Weeden and neither of them doing much to outdo the other. Willis McGahee leads the Browns in rushing with just 377 yards with Chris Ogbonnaya and Fozzy Whitaker also seeing action. Jordan Cameron has 72 receptions and seven touchdowns and Josh Gordon has 71 catches and eight touchdowns. D’Qwell Jackson has 112 tackles to lead the Browns defense, T.J. Ward has 92 tackles, and Joe Haden has looked like one of the top corners in football with four interceptions. The Browns offense is averaging 19.8 points and 344.7 yards per game, while defensively they allow 24.9 points and their opponents average 320.4 yards per game. The Browns have struggled at several key positions, but should be drafting high and often enough to get immediate help.

The Chicago Bears are tied for first place in the NFC North, but with the Lions owning the tiebreaker over them they will need to win the division outright. The Bears have an outside shot at a Wildcard spot, but their best chance is to win the division. Jay Cutler may still not be ready to go and if he isn’t, Josh McCown has already proven to be a viable option as a replacement. Matt Forte is having a monster year with 1,073 rushing yards and seven touchdowns and he has 65 receptions. Brandon Marshall has 84 receptions and nine touchdowns and Alshon Jeffery has 75 catches and six touchdowns. Major Wright has 80 tackles to lead the Bears, James Anderson has 77 tackles, and Chris Conte has 71 tackles, but the Bears may also get Lance Briggs back this week. The Bears offense is averaging 28.3 points and 389.8 yards per game, while defensively they are allowing 27.7 points and their opponents are averaging 381.5 yards per game. The Bears defense is going to need to improve and they are still going to need some help to get to the postseason.
Cleveland is 1-4 against the spread in their last five December games, 7-3-1 against the spread in their last 11 home games against a team with a winning road record, and 16-5 against the spread following a game where they had more than 250 passing yards in their previous game. Chicago is 5-15-1 against the spread in their last 21 games, 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games, and 0-5 against the spread against a team with a losing record.
The total in this one is set at 45, but that seems far too low, considering the teams so my free pick is on the over. I also have a strong pick on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as making it available on the App.
