The New England Patriots travel down to Miami to play the Dolphins on Sunday.
New England improved to 10-3 on the season after beating the Cleveland Browns 27-26 last weekend. The Patriots gained 484 yards against the Browns, with 397 coming thru the air. Tom Brady threw two touchdown passes in the final minute to help the Patriots come from behind to beat the Browns, despite losing Rob Gronkowski to a leg injury. Brady completed 32 of 52 passes for 418 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Brady was sacked 4 times, while the Patriots only managed to sack Cleveland’s Jason Campbell once in the win. New England allowed the Browns to gain 494 total yards, as Campbell picked apart the Patriots secondary on Sunday. This year, no matter what personnel is on the field the Patriots have a way of winning games, even though it may not look pretty all the time. The Patriots have now won three straight after losing at Carolina back in mid-November. New England won four straight to begin the season, and lost two out of their next three before winning five of their last six games. New England will have to adjust back to life without Gronkowski and head out on the road where they are 3-3 on the year.

The Miami Dolphins improved to 7-6 on the year after beating the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-28 last weekend. The Dolphins gained 360 total yards with 181 coming on the ground. QB Tannehill completed 20 of 33 passes for 200 yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. RB Thomas rushed 16 times for 105 yards and a score. TE Clay caught 7 balls for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Dolphins, who have fought through some drama in the last two months and didn’t let a few snowflakes stand in their way on Sunday. The Dolphins defense allowed 412 yards against the Steelers, but they were able to force one turnover and sack Roethlisberger 3 times. Miami blew a pair of second-half leads but improved to 3-1 in its last four games. Heady territory for an organization reeling a month ago after a bullying accusation against offensive lineman Richie Incognito by Jonathan Martin that threatened to rip the locker room apart. The Dolphins are playing some of their best football as they chase a wild-card berth. They will play two of their last three regular season games at home, where they are 3-3 on the year.
New England has won the last 7 games against Miami, including at 10-point win at home back in October. New England has not looked sharp over the past month, needing some second-half comebacks to get their last three wins. Miami is a team on a mission that would love to steal a wild-card spot this year. The Patriots will be without Gronkowski and their defense has struggled at times this season. I think Miami has a chance to win this game outright and I’m going to take the points with the home team.
