The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals face off in Pittsburgh on Sunday for Sunday Night Football.
The Pittsburgh Steelers likely won’t be going to the playoffs this season, missing the postseason for the second year in a row. The Steelers have had their share of injuries, but they simply haven’t gotten it done in the trenches. Ben Roethlisberger has completed 64 percent of his passes for 3,724 yards with 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Le’Veon Bell is the main option in the backfield, but he averages 3.4 yards per carry with five touchdowns, while Jonathan Dwyer is averaging 3.9 yards per carry. Antonio Brown has 90 receptions with seven touchdowns and Emmanuel Sanders has 58 receptions and five touchdowns. Lawrence Timmons has 103 tackles to lead the Steelers, Ryan Clark has 87 tackles, and Jason Worllds has 57 tackles and 8.0 sacks. The Steelers offense is averaging 22.4 points and 344.2 yards per game, while defensively they are allowing 24 points and their opponents are averaging 342 yards per game. The Steelers are a proud organization and not making the playoffs in back to back years is a rarity.

The Cincinnati Bengals are a win away from clinching the AFC North and they are still in contention for a first round bye. The Bengals need some help, but they have a head to head win over New England that could come into play. Andy Dalton has completed 62 percent of his passes for 3,419 yards with 25 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. BenJarvus Green-Ellis has 662 rushing yards and six touchdowns and Giovani Bernard as 620 rushing yards and 47 receptions with seven touchdowns. A.J. Green has 78 receptions, 1,175 yards, and eight touchdowns and Jermaine Gresham has 40 catches. Vontze Burfict leads the Bengals defense with 139 tackles, Rey Maualuga has 63 tackles, and Carlos Dunlap has 7.0 sacks. The Bengals are averaging 25.7 points and 368.8 yards per game and defensively they are allowing 18.8 points and their opponents average 320.5 yards per game. The Bengals are looking to be in the playoffs for the third year in a row.
Pittsburgh is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, 2-6 against the spread following a loss, and 4-1 against the spread against the AFC North. Cincinnati is 4-1 against the spread following a win, 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight road games, and 11-5 against the spread against the AFC. The favorite has covered the point spread in six of the last seven meetings of these two.
In divisional games these teams are built to play one another so they make for close games and lower scoring and we should see that here so even with the total set very low I still have a lean to the under. My stronger play is on the winning team against the spread and I will post that pick in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
