The Detroit Lions and the Baltimore Ravens face off at Ford Field for a Monday Night Football matchup with big playoff implications for both teams.
The Detroit Lions are tied for first place in the NFC North, but they own the tiebreaker over the Bears so they control their own destiny. The Lions have lost three of their last four games, but are 4-2 at home this season. Matthew Stafford has completed 58.3 percent of his passes for 3,973 yards with 27 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Reggie Bush has rushed for 854 yards and he has 45 receptions and Joique has 504 rushing yards and seven touchdowns as well as 38 catches. Calvin Johnson has 75 receptions and 12 touchdowns and Brandon Pettigrew has 39 catches. Stephen Tulloch has 107 tackles and three sacks, DeAndre Levy has 100 tackles and six interceptions, and Louis Delmas has 50 tackles. The Lions offense is averaging 26.6 points and 409.4 yards per game, while defensively they are allowing 24.7 points and 355.2 yards per game. The Lions will have a good idea where they stand after this one as the Bears play at Cleveland on Sunday.

The Baltimore Ravens are tied for the final Wildcard spot in the AFC, but they own the tiebreakers so they control their own destiny. The Ravens have won their last three games and four of their last five, and also beat the Dolphins, the team they are tied with in the Wildcard standings, head to head. Joe Flacco has completed 59.4 percent of his passes for 3,238 yards with 18 touchdowns and 17interceptions while being sacked 41 times. Ray Rice has rushed for 549 yards and he has 48 receptions and Bernard Pierce has rushed for 356 yards as the Ravens running game has struggled. Torrey Smith has 55 receptions and Jacoby Jones has 29 catches after missing part of the season due to injury. Daryl Smith has 102 tackles to lead the Ravens, James Ihedigbo has 87 tackles, and Terrell Suggs has 74 tackles and 9.0 sacks. The Ravens will know exactly how a win or loss affects their playoff positioning well before kickoff.
Detroit is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games, 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, 3-13 against the spread following a game that they allowed more than 30 points. Baltimore is 5-0-1 against the spread in their last six road games against a team with a winning home record, 1-4 against the spread following a win, and 18-6-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record. The home team has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
Expect to see plenty of scoring in this one and I don’t see the over being an issue here and that is my free pick. I also have a pick on who will cover the point spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as making it available on the App.
