The Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers face off on Sunday with the NFC North title and a spot in the Playoffs going to the winner.
The Chicago Bears had their chance to clinch the NFC North title but it wasn’t meant to be as they were blown out by the Eagles in Philadelphia on Monday Night. It has been an up and down season for the Bears but more than anything it has been a case of a struggling defense and an offense that can put up points. Jay Cutler has been healthy recently but it hasn’t been proven out that he is the best option at QB though he has completed 63.1 percent of his passes with 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Matt Forte has been a star at running back rushing for 1,229 yards and seven touchdowns and catching 70 passes out of the backfield. Brandon Marshall has 94 receptions and 11 touchdowns and Alshon Jeffery has 86 catches and seven touchdowns. Major Wright has 92 tackles, James Anderson has 90 tackles, and Lace Briggs has 65 tackles despite missing a good part of the season. The Bears are averaging 27.8 points and 384.3 yards per game while defensively they allow 29.7 points and 389.3 yards per game. Even if the Bears were to win this game it would be a reach to see them going anywhere in the playoffs.

The Green Bay Packers have won just two games since Aaron Rodgers went down with a broken collarbone but even so no one could put them away in the NFC North. With Rodgers still uncertain the Packers will make a final go of it with a win putting them in the playoffs. It will be Aaron Rodgers who is back for this one but will it be rust we see or is Rodgers just out of the gate game ready. Will he be tentative? Well that is doubtful. Eddie Lacy has had a big rookie season rushing for 1,112 yards and 10 touchdowns despite not being the starting running back until several games into the season. Jordy Nelson has 75 receptions for 1,153 yards and eight touchdowns and James Jones has 53 receptions and Randall Cobb has been activated as well. A.J. Hawk has 116 tackles and 5.0 sacks, Morgan Burnett has 94 tackles, and Bed Jones has 84 tackles. The Packers are averaging 25.6 points and 395.4 yards per game while defensively they are allowing 26.7 points and 374.1 yards. If the Packers were to make the playoffs it would be as big a knock on the rest of the NFC North as it would be an accomplishment for Green Bay.
Chicago is 7-18-1 against the spread in their last 26 games, 7-19 against the spread against the NFC, and 1-7-1 against the spread in their last nine home games. Green Bay is 12-4 against the spread against the NFC North, 1-7 against the spread in their last eight games, and 0-4 against the spread following a loss. Green Bay has covered the spread in five of the last six meetings of these two.
The total is set at 53 and despite the gusty wind and light snow that is expected I still like the over. I also have a pick on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area and on the App.
