The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Brown face off on Sunday in week 17 NFL Action.
The Pittsburgh Steelers need a ton of help to make the playoffs but they still have a slight chance of making it happen. The Steelers had a horrific start to the season and have battled back since. Ben Roethlisberger has completed 64.4 percent of his passes with 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Le’Veon Bell has rushed for 770 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the Steelers despite a paltry 3.4 yards per carry average. Antonio Brown has 101 receptions and eight touchdowns to lead the Steelers while Emmanuel Sanders has 65 receptions and six touchdowns. Defensively Lawrence Timmons has 118 tackles, Ryan Clark has 101 tackles, and Jason Worllds has 8.0 sacks. The Steelers are averaging 23.9 points and 340.5 yards per game while defensively they are allowing 24.2 points and 340.1 yards per game. It has been a testament to the Pittsburgh team and the Steelers organization that they didn’t pack it in when most thought they were finished a little over a month into the season.

The Cleveland Browns will once again be looking at a high draft choice and with the way the organization is headed it may be just what it takes to put them over the top and contending once again. The Browns have a poor record but they have been competitive in most of their games. Jason Campbell is the current QB and he has completed 56.9 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Willis McGahee has been the top option in the backfield but he looks done averaging just 2.7 yards per carry. Josh Gordon has been the Browns best offensive player with 80 receptions and nine touchdowns and Jordan Cameron has 75 catches and seven touchdowns. D’Qwell Jackson has 132 tackles, T.J. Ward has 104 tackles, and Joe Haden has emerged as one of the top corners in the game. Offensively the Browns are averaging 20.1 points and 342 yards per game while defensively they are allowing 25.7 points and 335.1 yards per game. The Browns need a QB and a running back and should get help in those areas in the NFL Draft.
Pittsburgh is 4-0 against the spread against the AFC North, 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games, and 4-1 against the spread against the AFC. Cleveland is 2-5 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 1-4 against the spread following a loss, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six games. The underdog has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
The dog rules this series and in most cases it has been the Browns but I look for the Steelers to rise to the occasion here and get the win and cover.
