See the Latest Odds

We’ve got another weekend down in the NFL off-season, which means we’re that much closer to the training camp and preseason periods. Let’s bide our time today by taking our daily look at the headlines out there and see who everyone’s talking about right now. Here’s the latest.

Chris Harris, CB, Denver Broncos: We got a bit of an update on Broncos CB Chris Harris this past weekend, so let’s check in with him and see how he’s doing.
The latest word is that he’s expecting to be cleared for full game participation by the middle of the preseason. Harris is on the road to recovery after going under the knife to fix his ACL. He’ll have a checkup from the famous Dr. James Andrews soon, and then we’ll know more about his status. That visit will come toward the end of this month.
Harris was injured in the playoffs last season, but before that was able to log 65 tackles with three interceptions during his time on the field.

The Star-Ledger-USA TODAY Sports

Martavis Bryant, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers may have a potential sleeper on their hands at the WR position this year. Fourth-round pick Martavis Bryant is getting rave reviews from the coaching staff, and could be headed for a big year.
Steelers WR coach Richard Mann recently praised Bryant’s abilities, saying he has a big reach, good speed and that the team is able to utilize him in various ways.
Sources close to the team are tagging Bryant as a potential breakout on deep routes, as he’s got a size and similar skill-set to legendary WR Randy Moss.
We’re hearing great things about the Pittsburgh offense this off-season, but we’ll have to wait and see if it translates to the field, with Bryant, Antonio Brown and Lance Moore on the field together, we’re thinking the odds are pretty good that it will.

Eli Manning, QB, New York Giants: Speaking of offenses that should be taking big steps forward this season, there’s been a lot of talk in the Big Apple this off-season centering around the Giants’ new attack.
New offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo has given the squad a shot in the arm, and no one is feeling it more than veteran QB Eli Manning. He recently was quoted as saying the new offensive scheme “re-energized” him, and he sounds like he’s looking forward to getting the chance to put it in practice on the field.
Manning has had a lot on his plate this off-season. He’s coming off ankle surgery and has to learn the new playbook before camp. He definitely needs to take a step forward here; Manning had 27 interceptions last season in what was ultimately a futile campaign.

Week 1 Schedule: Now that the schedules have been released, we can start looking forward to the on-field action as we warm up for the 2014 campaign. Here’s a look at the first week of the season, which begins September 4.
