The Line: Ottawa Redblacks See the Latest Odds
The Toronto Argonauts and Ottawa Redblacks will play Friday night in what will be Ottawa’s first home football game in nearly a decade.
The Argonauts haven’t gotten off to the start fans were hoping for, getting blown out in two of their first three games. However, the Argonauts have proven to have one of the best offenses in the CFL with quarterback Ricky Ray leading the league with 982 passing yards and Chad Owens hauling in 28 passes for 339 yards. While that tandem has been nearly unstoppable, Owens will miss at least the next three weeks with an injury. Defense hasn’t been the Argonauts strength this year, as they’re allowing 424.3 yards and 31.3 points. With the Argonauts offense not being at full strength, somebody must step up and help get some stops on the other side of the ball.

For an expansion team, the Redblacks have been pretty competitive in their first couple of games. Unfortunately for them that hasn’t resulted in any victories, but they’ve held their own for the most part. Running back Chevon Walker has led the way for the Redblacks, averaging more than six yards per carry and scoring three total touchdowns. The Redblacks have to find ways to give Walker the ball more often. Defensively, the Redblacks allow 388.5 yards per game and 31.5 points. The Redblacks have to take advantage of the sellout crowd and get off to a great start in order to have a shot in this matchup.
The Argonauts are 13-4-1 ATS in their last 18 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
With the injury to Owens and the fact this is going to be an emotional game for Ottawa, I'll take a chance with the home team and the points. This looks like the game where the Redblacks can win their first game in franchise history.
