The New York Giants and the Buffalo Bills open up the NFL preason in the Hall of Fame game on Sunday night.
Buffalo looks to 2014 with the hopes that a few new faces will spark the team to new heights. How many of those new faces and for how long will they play is the question and my guess we won't see much. I think we might see Sammy Watkins have a few balls thrown his way as the Bills at least want to give their fans a quick look at their top draft pick. Whether EJ Manuel is throwing them is the question. Buffalo might be willing to put the ball in the air with a weapon such as Watkins but not so much in the preseason so one of the best rushing teams in the game might opt to keep the ball on the ground and shorten the game and get out healthy. As an Eagles fan I want to see what Bryce Brown does as he showed potential in Philly when he didn't lay the ball on the ground.

The Giants enter the new year looking to rebound from what was simply an awful 2013. Much of what happens in New York seems to mostly revolve around Eli Manning; good or bad. As I mentioned above I am an Eagles fan so I watch Eli as often as possible and obviously take a little pleasure (okay a lot of pleasure) when he struggles. When he makes good decisions and executes good things happen but for a quarterback that is one of the bigger names in the game he makes an inordinate amount of mistakes. Having said that I'd be surprised if we saw much of him Sunday where unjuries in the preseason are to be avoided especially after he had ankle surgery early in the year. Ryan Nassib and Curtis Painter will probably see most of the snaps as Tom Coughlin gets a good look at most of the backups and free agents in a new offense. However, like the Bills I expect New York to do a lot of running and get this game over with quickly.
I really don't have a clue as to who is playing and for how long but I think it's safe to say the starters won't see much time. Right now I'll lay the point...
