Cincinnati Bengals 2013 Record: 11-5

2014 NFL Season

Odds to win the Super Bowl: 35/1 See the Latest Odds

The Cincinnati Bengals put together a ver solid 2013 regular season, finishing the year with an impressive 11-5 record, however Cincy got ousted in their first playoff game again this season, falling to the Chargers 27-10.

The Cincinnati offense struggled at times last season, but in the end the Bengals finished in the top ten in passing offense, ranking eighth in the league with an average of 258.5 yards per game.  The ground game struggled for the Bengals, but Cincinnati has some nice talent in the backfield, and I expect the ground attack for the Bengals to improve more in 2014.  The question with the Bengals will always be whether or not Andy Dalton is the guy to get the Bengals over the hump and back into championship contention.  The surrounding talent is there, and if the Bengals fall flat again in 2014, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a change under center soon.

NFL Previews: 2014 Cincinnati Bengals Preview and Analysis

Defensively the Bengals were outstanding last season, ranking fifth in the league against both the pass, and the run.  The Bengals will be loaded defensively again this season, so don’t be surprised to see the Bengals competitive throughout the season, even if Dalton and the Bengal offense struggles.

Cincy will have a tough road in 2014, as the Bengals have to not only face their stout division, but the Bengals have road games against the Pats, the Saints and what should be an improved Houston team.  The Bengals are solid, but with this schedule I just don't see them repeating the success they had in 2013.
