Odds to win the Super Bowl: 6/1 See the Latest Odds

The Denver Broncos are good at football.  Denver dominated the regulars season last year, and there are no indications that the Broncos can’t continue that success this season.

Offensively the Broncos have perhaps the greatest signal caller of all time under center in Peyton Manning, and even though Manning is getting up there in age, he has shown us time and again that he still has what it takes to compete at a very high level.  The Broncos had the best passing attack in the league last season, putting up an incredible 340 yards per game.  The ground game was decent, which is a big part of a Manning ran offense…it just doesn’t get quite the attention.  Eric Decker is no longer in Denver, but the Broncos still have a stable of solid wideouts, and a stud TE in Julius Thomas, who came on big last season with Manning’s help.  Montee Ball looks to be the guy for the Broncos in the backfield this year, and for a big guy, Ball has soft hands, which is a huge plus in this offense.

NFL Previews: 2014 Denver Broncos Preview and Analysis

Defensively the Broncos went from being one of the most dominant units in the game, to struggling last season.  Denver allowed an average of 254 yards per game through the air, although to be fair most teams were playing from behind against the Broncos, forcing them to thrown the ball more than usual.  Denver did address the secondary somewhat in the draft however, selecting Bradley Roby out of Ohio State in the first round.  Also helping the secondary out will be the addition of DeMarcus Ware from the Cowboys.  Bronco fans thank you Jerry,,,

If the Broncos are going to return to the Super Bowl this season, the road won’t be easy.  Denver is already in a tough division, and also has to face the NFC West.  The Broncos do get the Niners at home, but traveling to Seattle will be a tough one to overcome.  Denver also travels to New England, Cincy, and of course Arrowhead to face the Chiefs.

All that being said, the Broncos have to be the favorite as of now to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
