The New York Jets are a perfect 2-0 this preseason, but that’s nothing compared to the Giants who are 3-0, which indicates that these two will be meeting up in the Super Bowl. Nah…
The New York Jets are sitting at 2-0 this preseason following a 25-17 win over the Bengals in Cincinnati this past Saturday. The Jets had Geno Smith under center to begin things on Saturday, but if this game was any kind of indicator as to how he has progressed since last season, Geno’s game still needs a lot of work. I would say that there may be a quarterback controversy brewing within the Jets, but neither Vick, nor Boyd were exactly impressive either. The Jets are going to use Vick this season in some fashion, and if Vick starts to improve, and show that he understands this offense, Smith may not finish the season as the number one option for New York. Chris Johnson played well for the Jets against the Bengals, averaging a solid 6 yards per carry on the night. Nothing really stood out to me with the wide outs for the Jets, and it is clear that New York is going to have to run the ball to be successful this season.

The New York Giants are sitting at 3-0 this season, having the “luxury” of playing in the Hall of Fame game, giving the Giants an extra game to prepare. The Giants defeated the Colts 27-26 on Saturday night in Indy, to give the Giants their third win. It needs to be noted however, that the Giants were trailing the Colts 26-0 nothing heading into the fourth quarter, and New York scored the go ahead touchdown with just under a minute remaining off of a Nassib pass to Corey Washington. Eli Manning continues to struggle in the new offense for the Giants, and here on Friday, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Manning play at least the entire first half, as Manning isn’t showing any signs of improving, let alone getting close to the 70 percent completion percentage threshold. Andre Williams is showing some flashes in the backfield for the Giants, but it is clear that Jennings will be getting the lions share of the carries for New York this season. Unless he fumbles…
All preseason games are tough to call, but this one is bad. I’m going to lean with the Giants here, as I see their coaching staff opening up the playbook more for Manning, trying to get something going with this offense. The Jets secondary is far from impressive, so if Manning can find a rhythm, the Giants should have success against the Jets here on Friday.
