The Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers meet at Lambeau Field Friday night for week three of the preseason.
The Oakland Raiders are 1-1 in preseason action, as they defeated the Detroit Lions, 27-26. The Raiders came out firing, throwing the ball 44 times for 306 yards and two touchdowns. Matt McGloin led the way with 115 passing yards and a touchdown on 15 attempts. Matt Schaub also had a better showing, completing eight of 13 passes for 87 yards. That was the second straight game the Raiders focused heavily on throwing the ball, as they have just 43 rushing attempts in two preseason games. Defensively, the Oakland Raiders allowed 331 yards and gave up just one touchdown in the final three quarters. Kaluka Maiava led the Raiders with five tackles, while Khalil Mack and Nick Roach came away with a sack.

The Green Bay Packers improved to 1-1 in the preseason by beating the St. Louis Rams, 21-7. Aaron Rodgers was flawless, completing 11 of 13 pass attempts for 128 yards and one touchdown. While the third preseason game is where the starters play the most, I wouldn’t expect the Packers to play Rodgers much in this contest. The Packers ran 61 offensive plays and had 125 rushing yards on 30 carries. The Packers looked to be in regular season form with Rodgers, Randall Cobb and Eddie Lacy all playing at a high level. Defensively, the Packers allowed 216 yards and held the Rams scoreless in the second half. Jayrone Elliott came away with three sacks, while rookie Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had one sack and two tackles.
When was the last time you saw a team getting a touchdown in a preseason game?
Look, I know the Green Bay Packers are the better team and will play their starters longer than usual. However, this is still a preseason game at the end of the day. Give me Oakland and the insane amount of points.
