The Minnesota Vikings found the scoring touch in a 30-28 decision over the visiting Arizona Cardinals in week two to up their record to 2-0. After the Cardinals took a 28-24 lead on a TD with 1:11 showing on the clock Teddy Bridgewater drove the Vikes right down the field and hit Rodney Smith with a two yard scoring pass for the win with 18 ticks remaining. Bridgewater was outstanding with a 16-20 effort for 177 yards and a pair of scores with Matt Cassel tossing for 153 yards and a touchdown while Joe Banyard added a 56 yard run. Marcus Sherels was the defensive standout with nine tackles.

The Kansas City Chiefs fell to 1-1 in the preseason following a 28-16 defeat to the Carolina Panthers. After lighting up the scoreboard with 41 points in week one the Chiefs totaled 330 yards and were kicking field goals instead of PAT's. Alex Smith threw for 127 yards while Aaron Murray tossed for 81 yards and the lone touchdown that gave KC a 16-14 lead in the third. Despite the score the Chiefs defense played well wth 279 yards allowed with four sacks but zero interceptions. The difference here was the Panthers scored when the opportunity presented itself with a 4-4 performance in the red zone but were otherwise contained by the KC defense.
