The New England Patriots and New York Giants will clash Thursday night at MetLife Stadium in the final preseason game.
The England Patriots are 2-1 in the preseason with two consecutive victories. The Patriots have been a scoring machine lately, dropping 72 points in their last two games. And while you won’t see Tom Brady in this contest, backup Jimmy Garoppolo has thrown three touchdowns in his last two games and the running game is coming off a performance where it averaged more than five yards per carry. Needless to say, Garoppolo and Ryan Mallett are in a heated backup quarterback battle and it’s helped produce some big time numbers on the field. Defensively, the New England Patriots are coming off a performance where they held the Carolina Panthers to just seven points and 271 yards. Chris Jones made his mark felt after picking up two sacks in that victory.

The New York Giants have won all four preseason games and have a chance to be the rare team that sweeps the board. What’s interesting about the Giants is that they’ve trailed in the fourth quarter of all their games and still managed to come back and win. That doesn’t say a ton about guys like Eli Manning, instead backup Ryan Nassib deserves a lot of the credit, as he threw three touchdown passes in the victory over the New York Jets. Rookie running back Andre Williams has also scored a touchdown in two of the four games played. It’ll be interesting to see if the New York Giants backup offense can make things happen from start to finish with the starters being benched for this contest. Defensively, the Giants have allowed 50 points in their last two games. Damontre Moore produced two sacks in his most recent contest.
The New York Giants haven't let us down all preseason and will now unleash their backups for the entire game. Why not ride that money train one last time? No reason to hop off with the way the Giants have been able to come back.
