The Panthers look to stay undefeated in prime time as they host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Charlotte for Sunday Night Football.
The Pittsburgh Steelers play their second prime time game in as many weeks on Sunday night a little over a week after getting trounced by the Baltimore Ravens last Thursday in what was a physical divisional show down. Pittsburgh from one tough defense to another in the process as they head into Charlotte to face a Panthers team who has been ridiculous on the defensive side of the ball and now are starting to get things rolling offensively as well. The Steelers survived a scare to open the season as they outlasted the Cleveland Browns but were outclassed and outmatched against a determined Ravens team that was looking to make a statement and that they did. Pittsburgh’s defense is getting old and certainly isn’t the stalwart it used to be but offensively they have some pieces as Ben Roethlisberger has proven he can lead his team to a championship and both Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown are play makers that can change the course of a game with a single play.

The Panthers made a statement in their season opening victory that while their offense behind Derek Anderson may not be anything to worry about their defense is one of the best in football and that was enough to pass the time in week one until a healthy Cam Newton returned last week. After getting their starting pivot back the Panthers moved to 2-0 thanks to a convincing win over the Detroit Lions and now they have a shot at hitting the 3-0 mark with a win at home in prime time against a Steelers team who is coming off a disheartening loss. While these teams may be pretty close on paper as I think the Steelers may have the edge offensively I think there are too many factors leaning the way of the home side here as I think the Panthers front seven is a matchup nightmare for the Steelers’ offensive line and ultimately I think defense decides this game and that means it should go the way of the Panthers.
