The Chicago Bears and New York Jets play Monday night at MetLife Stadium.
The Chicago Bears are coming off an upset victory over the San Francisco 49ers and look to win back-to-back road games here. Although Jay Cutler has thrown two interceptions, he’s completing a ridiculous 68.7 percent of his passes for 525 yards and six touchdowns. While it’s only two games, this may be the best I’ve ever seen Cutler play. Four different Bears players have already topped 100 receiving yards, including Brandon Marshall who leads the team with 119 yards and four touchdowns. All the Bears need is to get their running game going, as Matt Forte is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry and Chicago has yet to rush for a touchdown. The Chicago Bears defense could also use some improvement, as they’re allowing 360.5 yards per game but have forced five turnovers and five sacks. Ryan Mundy leads the Bears with 14 tackles and Willie Young has three of the team’s five sacks.

The New York Jets nearly upset the Green Bay Packers but fall to 1-1 on the season after a bizarre ending. The Jets have the potential to be a surprise team this season with the best rushing offense and best rushing defense in the NFL. The Jets are averaging five yards per carry led by Chris Ivory’s 145 rushing yards, while the defense is allowing just 52.5 yards on the ground. Geno Smith really hasn’t had to do much with a running game like that, but he is completing 65 percent of his passes and has developed quite a connection with newly acquired wide receiver Eric Decker, who leads the team with 137 receiving yards. The New York Jets are allowing 274 yards and have forced one turnover and six sacks. David Harris leads the Jets with 15 tackles and Demario Davis has two sacks.
The Bears are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in Week 3 and 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Jets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in Week 3 and 3-1-2 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Bears are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
I’m really impressed how the Jets have played the first two games and think they have the ability to really shock some people this year if they can keep it up. The Chicago Bears defense continues to scare me, and I’m not sure they’ll be able to stop the run. Also, I don’t like the idea of Cutler, who is still a turnover machine, facing a nasty and pressure packed Jets defense. If that wasn’t enough reasons to back the Jets here, the Bears are traveling across the country to play another road game.
Everything is pointing in the Jets favor here along with the fact they’re at home on Monday night.
