The Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field in a rivalry game in the NFC North in week four.
The Green Bay Packers are 1-2 on the season entering this contest, with both losses coming on the road against Seattle and Detroit. Aaron Rodgers and company will look to bounce back against a Bears defense that has been depleted by injury through the first three weeks. Packers receivers Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb have accounted for 65% of the team’s receptions in the early going with Nelson racking up 351 yards on 23 receptions with one TD and Randall Cobb adding 14 receptions for 126 yards and three TDs. The running game and run defense are clear deficiencies for the Packers, so watch out for Matt Forte to potentially have consistent success in this matchup.

The Chicago Bears are 2-1 entering this game with both wins coming on the road in the underdog role and their loss coming at home in a favorite role against the Bills in week one. QB Jay Cutler hasn’t had optimal health to work with at receiver with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffrey playing through injuries, but nonetheless he’s gotten the job done completing 66% of his passes for 750 yards and eight TD’s. Of course Cutler will have to contend with Julius Peppers coming at him in this matchup in addition to linebackers Clay Matthews and A.J. Hawk. The Bears are weakened defensively with the injury to Charles Tillman at corner and potential absence or lack of explosiveness from S Chris Conte for this game.
Anything could happen in a rivalry game like this one especially given the level of personal battle between Cutler and Rodgers we always see in games between these teams. The over is set high but I don’t see either defense as being all that sharp and offensive focus should be on passing plays with two QB’s that can execute quick drives via long plays. Take the over and consider this game a top candidate for a teaser with the adjusted over.
