NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Schedule and More
September 28, 2014
Today’s the day. In just a few hours we’ll be seeing the bulk of the Week 4 matchups getting started, and that makes for an exciting morning. While we’re waiting, let’s kill some time by checking in on some of the notable players out there and see what everyone’s up to.
Jamaal Charles looks like he’s ready to go for tomorrow night. He reportedly did “everything” in practice yesterday, which bodes well for his return from a high-ankle sprain. He's officially probable.
Charles was inches away from taking the field last week, so makes sense. Kansas City will be taking on the Patriots on “Monday Night Football.”

Speaking of the Patriots, they made a couple of roster moves yesterday. The team placed DL Sealver Siliga on injured reserve, but he’s designated to return. Siliga injured his foot in Week 3 and will be out for the next couple of months.
In his spot, the Pats signed DL Casey Walker from the Panthers practice squad. He recorded 49 tackles and a sack in 33 games at Oklahoma and joined the Panthers as a rookie in 2013.
One of the big question marks for the Jets this week has been the status of their No. 1 WR Eric Decker. He’s been hobbled by a hamstring injury for the past couple of weeks, and enters today’s game with questionable status.
The good news for Gang Green is that Decker says he’ll play today against Detroit, though the coaching staff may choose to limit his reps during the game. In the Bears matchup last week on “Monday Night Football,” Decker played just 12 snaps. In his three games so far, he has 10 grabs for 156 yards and a score, so New York will definitely need him out there if they’re going to keep up with Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson on the other side.
Good news this morning for Redskins tackle Trent Williams. After some initial concerns that he’d dislocated his kneecap in Thursday’s blowout loss to the Giants, it was determined that he won’t be needing an MRI.
That said, Williams is still considered questionable for Monday’s big matchup against the Seahawks in Week 5.
