The Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos play Saturday afternoon at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
This is a real statement game for the Arizona Cardinals, who are still trying to convince the NFL world they are for real. The Cardinals rely on their physical defense to win games, as they’re allowing 15 points and 316.3 yards per game, while forcing five turnovers and three sacks. The Cardinals have allowed 17 or fewer points in five of their last eight games. Tony Jefferson leads the Cardinals with 26 tackles and Larry Foote has three tackles for loss. Offensively, Drew Stanton will remain the Cards starting quarterback, and he’s completing 51.6 percent of his passes for two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Michael Floyd and John Brown have been the biggest playmakers for the Cardinals, as they’ve combined for over 350 receiving yards and seven receptions of 20 or more yards. Andre Ellington is the only Cardinals runner who has had any success, as he leads the team with 206 rushing yards.

The Denver Broncos have had an extra week to think about their loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Broncos are also figuring out how to improve their passing defense that is ranked 31st in the NFL. Even with all the offseason signings, the Broncos are allowing 390.7 yards, 22.3 points, and they’ve forced three turnovers and eight sacks. Brandon Marshall leads the Broncos with 30 tackles and Von Miller has two sacks. Peyton Manning continues to be Peyton Manning, as he’s completing 66.7 percent of his passes for eight touchdowns and one interception. The Broncos have produced eight passing plays of 20 or more yards and Emmanuel Sanders leads Denver with 334 receiving yards. Like the Cardinals, the Broncos could improve their running game, as Montee Ball has Denver’s only rushing touchdown and is the only runner with 60 or more yards.
The Cardinals are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Broncos are 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games following a bye week and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games. The Cardinals are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings, while the favorite is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
I really like what the Arizona Cardinals are doing and think they are being flat out disrespected with this line. The Cards have the secondary to force Manning into a few mistakes, and the offense has enough playmakers to put points on the board against a suspect Denver secondary. Give me the points, and I wouldn't be surprised if Arizona won SU.
