The Ravens look to keep pace in the AFC North with a victory on the road against the struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Ravens have quietly put together a strong start to the season despite sitting at 3-2 and they have done a great job ridding themselves of the Ray Rice controversy that many thought would handcuff the team’s success. Baltimore has re-established a stingy defense and have some great playmakers on offense including a three heading rushing attack led by Justin Forsett. Baltimore should remain competitive in the tough AFC North division as it looks wide open at the moment despite the Bengals having just a single loss but Baltimore can make up ground with a win here. The Ravens were outlasted by the Colts last weekend but that isn’t anything to be ashamed of as Indy is a very solid football team that should be in the playoffs this season but look for the Ravens to play some inspired football here against a Tampa Bay team that sits at 1-4.

The Bucs have had a disastrous start to the season that was lowlighted by the abysmal effort against the Falcons a few weeks ago but since then they have been competitive despite sitting at 1-4. The Bucs were leading against the Saints for most of the game last weekend and looked as though they were going to pull off their second upset in as many weeks after upending the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Tampa returns home and I think they will be fired up to be playing in front of their fans but it will be a gruelling afternoon against a solid Ravens team that doesn’t have any major holes. However, I don’t really like the line as we have to lay more than a field goal with a team that doesn’t score a ton of points and in a road game that both teams need I will side with the home team to keep it close in what I see being a field goal type outcome.
