The Bears and Falcons look poised to light up the scoreboard as these two NFC opponents lock horns in Atlanta.
The Chicago Bears have had a Jekyll and Hyde type season as they split wins and losses through the first four games of the season and fell under .500 with a tough loss against Carolina last weekend in which they surrendered the game winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. The Bears head into the Georgia Dome to take on the Falcons who sustained a tough loss of their own against the Giants last weekend and with the way these teams have played offensively this season it would come as no surprise to see this game take a long time to finish thanks to all the touchdown stoppages. The Bears are a hurting unit in the secondary and with Matty Ice playing at home and having Julio Jones at his disposal it’ll be a tough afternoon for Kyle Fuller and the other Chicago DB’s who have struggled containing the pass. On the other hand, Matt Forte is in line for a huge afternoon as the Falcons are atrocious against the run and with his ability as a receiving back and all three of Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, and Martellus Bennett at Jay Cutler’s disposal they should have no trouble putting up points either.

Atlanta returns home looking for a victory that’ll keep them perched atop the NFC South division but if they’re going to find success they’ll have to find a way to keep the Bears offense at bay. The Falcons did a pretty good job at containing Rashad Jennings last week but Eli Manning and the passing game played very well and with the weapons the Bears have on offense it could be a tiring day for the Atlanta defense. The Falcons obliterated the Bucs the last time they were at home and while the Bears are a much better side than Tampa Bay I don’t think anyone would be surprised to see Atlanta take this game comfortably with the way they move the ball in the Georgia Dome. The total in this one is likely to continue to move up as kick off approaches but I think it is worth a shot hammering the over as both teams should easily be able to put up three touchdowns apiece and with some field goals mixed in there I think this one hits over.
