NFL Updates: News From Around the League
We’ve got just one more day to wait before Week 7 begins in the NFL, and the anticipation is running high. In the meantime, we’re seeing lots of news and developments coming in from around the league, so with that said let’s take our daily look at the headlines.
Chargers CB Brandon Flowers suffered a groin injury in the team’s too-close-for-comfort win over the Raiders, and that issue has sources close to the team wondering if he’ll be able to take the field on Sunday against the Chiefs.
Flowers also missed out on Week 2 with a groin injury. We’ll have to monitor his status in practice this week to see where he’s at.

Among the Redskins’ problems this year is their ugly running game, which simply has come up short. RB Alfred Morris doesn’t have a 100-yard rushing game yet, and the team averages 99.3 yards on the ground per game this season--that’s 23rd in the league.
Expect the team to remain focused on the rush heading into Week 7. We’ll see if they can shore up some of their difficulties.
Here’s a weird story from yesterday. Backup Cowboys RB Joseph Randle was arrested yesterday. The charges stem from his alleged shoplifting of $80 in cologne and $40 in underwear from Dillard’s in Frisco.
There’s obviously more to this story, and we’ll find out what that is when more details emerge. For now, it fits under the “odd news” category quite nicely.
The Bengals’ Marvin Jones visited with a foot specialist yesterday in an effort to gather some information on his right ankle. Jones has been out all year with foot/ankle injuries.
Miami’s Knowshon Moreno experiment has been a complete train wreck, and it came to its ultimate conclusion yesterday. He’s out for the season due to a torn ACL.
Moreno was only able to play in three games, collecting just 14 yards on seven tries. He also had an injury to his elbow that caused him to miss some time.
Lamar Miller will keep carrying the load in Moreno’s absence. He’s currently the team’s rushing leader with 330 yards.
